Back in Malaysia

Hmm..haven't been posting for some time again! Busy busy busy...excuses excuses excuses! :P

I'm now back in KL for 2 weeks holidays before returning to Melbourne to start work officially next Tuesday. The last 2 months went by so quickly. Got a job offer in Melbourne that sent me to Bangalore for 7 weeks training without much preparation. And then I took the option to take some leave to visit my families in KL before starting work. Didn't really have the time to sit back and have everything sink in. Until I'm back here, I have more alone time for myself to digest everything.

It feels great to be home again! There is no place like home! I arrived on the 31st march. Met up with Hui Mei(the superstar) on sat, lucky me! She looks great and I'm so happy for her and what she has achieved today. I think she will continue to be a super star in Malaysia. Also met up with my relatives, aunties, uncles...they were like "Oh, you finished your holiday in India ah? You had fun anot? Wah, so dark already" (all in Malaysian slang). And I was like...hmmm...when did I mention holidaying in India? I guess they can't see me working yet! Oh well, the truth is that I did have an excellent time in Bangalore, both working and travelling!

On Sunday, I went back to Ipoh (a town in another state in Malaysia) for 'cheng meng' (traditional chinese time for praying ancestors) my grandfather and then visited my grandma. She looked older now from the last time I saw her but still quite strong. She thought I was back for good! Then to learn that I'm only back for a short period and I have to return to Melbourne to work. She was like 'ah boy is also in O zhau, now you also staying in O zhau...' She probably think that we've turned guai lo and never wanna come back to Malaysia. Well, I had to tell her that the job prospects in melb is so much better than KL. And of course there were other reasons which I find it difficult to explain. Indeed, I feel that I've been given this goldren opportunity to work in TW, it's like a dream come true! How can I give up such a great job? Plus, Shaunie is there in Melbourne...another reason to stay on...plus my friends, my course mates...do I need a list of reasons to stay back?

After spending some time with her, I then continued my journey to Taiping (another small town in the same state as Ipoh) to visit Shaunie's parents, of course shaunie was around too! This was the 2nd time that both of us were back to Msia at the same time. It's quite rare. Taiping (translates to peacefulness) is much quieter than KL and it has changed alot too from the last visit in 2002. It was sooo sooo great to see Shaunie again and able to spend time with him after being apart for 7 weeks. We had so much to catch up for the next few days but it wasn't enough.

We then return to KL on Wednesday because they will be flying off to Taiwan for their own family vacation on Friday. So I didn't really have alot of time with Shaunie. Both of us went shopping on Thursday and met up with one of his old time friends for Genki Sushi! Yummington! She's a lovely girl.

On the day shaunie and his parents flew off to Taiwan, I actually decided to leave KL before they did. I bought myself a first class bus ticket to Singapore to visit my friend and do some shopping. I was excited being in a first class, equipped with massage chair and personal entertainment video. Too bad I was too tired and sleepy to enjoy it for the first few hours in the bus. I haven't had the chance to sleep in ever since I came back, mainly because I can't sleep early at night and I had to get up early in the morning. So I fell asleep in no time right after I boarded. So my journey to Singapore wasn't that great afterall. Arrived in Singapore 5 hours later, did some alone shopping at Bugis before meeting up with Wai Yee and Ze pin for dinner. OMG, the stuffs in Singapore are like super cheap! I couldn't resist and bought 3 pairs of shoes, a handbag and a necklace before I even met up with my friends. They were like shocked when they found out about my buys. Hehhe.. then they took me to this place 'Brewerks' at Clarke Quay *suppose to be the most happening places in Sg on a friday night* for dinner and beer. Brewerks has their own beer with flavours. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of beer, so it was just alright for me. But the food was awesome!! Spent the next day shopping again with Wai Yee and I couldn't believe it! I bought 2 more pairs of shoes! And a nice top from Zara! Too much shopping in 2 days! I will definitely make a note to transit Sg the next time I come back to Msia.

Back in KL on Sat night, went yum char with my dearest bro- king. Was super super tired by the time I got home at 3am! And I had to get up at 8.30am the next day to go dimsum with some astooers - Zp, Keh hann and Chong yi. Glad to have met Chongyi's new girlfriend - Li Wei. Had a short nice breaky catch up with these guys. And I continued with my schedule to have lunch with my aunties at OneUtama - Little vietnamese Kitchen! You must think I'm like a pig already! At least that's what Shaunie thinks! Not Fair!

The great thing happened when we started playing 3 kaki mahjong on Sunday night and it went on for Monday and Tuesday! I was losing so much everytime I started and I decided to swap seats to regain my fengshui. And I always ended up winning at least 8 bucks at the end. Although it's only RM8, but the feeling of winning from scratch was great! The game on Tuesday was exceptionally unforgettable when I lost everything in my purse that ZP had to trade Singapore dollars with me so that I can continue playing. At the end, I walked away with a green 50 dollar note! :P

Then another great event happened when I met up with Selina (lin lin) on Tuesday. That girl!! She can really make me shop!! We ended up having lunch, shopping, coffee and then shopping again! She made me spent so much on Zara, Lewre, Tangs and Elle. So I got myself a new jacket, 2 bags, 3 pants and a top. But I had such a super great time catching up with her and just seeing her made it great! On Wednesday, I managed to catch up with ex-muoss people for dinner. Keat Li came almost straightaway from the airport after her trip to Beijing, Huey Yee came after her french classes in Hartamas, Selina drove all the way from Cyberjaya to Mid valley and managed to arrive 1 hour earlier than everyone else...and Kelvin and Sue hooi who turned up 1 hour later than what they told me. I was so touched! even though it was just an hour plus dinner gathering. Too bad Michelle, yin see and Nurul couldn't make it!

It's thursday today, it means that my trip in Msia is coming to an end soon. Been spending most of my daytime this week with my mum. Will see Shaunie tomorrow evening when he comes back from Taiwan, yay! Dad's birthday is on sunday and we will be celebrating his birthday on Sat noon. Still not sure where we will be going for lunch. You know...my dad!

Time check: 1.09am...I'm still wide awake! That's what I meant by having sleeping problems at night. Will have to enjoy my day tomorrow and Sat to the max before I stuff all my buys into the 20kg limited luggage. Something tells me that I will have trouble getting through the custom. There are still alot of food that I haven't tasted like roti canai, roti planta, more chau kuey tieu, more har mee...hungry! Shaunie will not be going back to Melbourne with me at the same time, he'll be staying for another week. So I have to take care of myself when I get back to Melb. Already got myself well plan after I arrive Melb. Li Ping will be coming to pick me up from the airport and we will go for branch. Then I will be meeting up with my uni mates for dinner. Then on Monday, I will be joining Shu Chyn and Shu Min for lunch before meeting up Khoon Leng and Krishna for dinner.
It seems like I've got everything planned until the very last minute of my holiday. Hopefully I won't need to drag myself up on Tuesday to go to work. It will be super exciting to know what project I will be put on in Melbourne.

Time check again: 1.14am...Time to log off! That's about all the 2 weeks short break back in Msia. Looking forward to going back to Melb and back to Msia again!
